Life is a Bowl of Cherries!

So yesterday after my rampage little episode and a little cooling off period....I started to read all my lovely blogs my in my reader. You people make me happy. It is nice to live in other people's worlds for a while! So while I was reading I ran across some people who had obviously not read my post that day because I think I scared some people that showed some love, and passed on awards!! The first one was from Ashley! You definitely need to go visit her! Her and her husband are so cute! She recently posted some gorgeous pictures from her wedding!

"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Vanessa and Kyle

Please go check these girls out! They are all great and so much fun!!

NEXT! Poor Kelli got to me right after my post! Thank goodness she isn't faint of heart! She was soo good to me and truly made me feel better with this little number!

How cute is that??? I love it!

Here are the rules:
As with any award, there are rules. The rules of this award are:

1. You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs in a post.

2. You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions in the post.

3. You must copy and paste the rules and the instructions below in the post.

Instructions: On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well. Thanks so much again Ashley
and Kelli!

Okay, so last night, I try and book a trip for Puerto Rico. The stupid website would not go through.
Cost of the total tickets $588.00--not so bad.

I was happy.

Today when I got online to book them: Cost of the total ticket $864.00

I was pissed.

So I decided to just go ahead and book it. Tickets aren't going to go down ya know?

So I booked it.

Then I see where I am not assigned seats. So I go online to go and assign our seats because with spirit air that's what you do.

I kid you not THEY ARE CHARGING to pick a freakin seat. What the HELL did I just pay $864.00 for?????????? What are these people trying to pull?? This is ridiculous, this is ludicrious, this is whatever else -ous words define this. This is pure madness. Not only that it's not just a couple of dollars. It's 12 dollars for a window seat, 7 dollars for a middle seat, and 12 dollars for an aisle seat. FOR EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT. So for two people with two seats per flight with layovers it's going to cost me another $75 dollars to assign seats! WTF??!? On top of charging for luggage! What's next??? I'm sorry ma'am for fresh oxygen that's going to be an extra $35. Oh I'm sorry, if you want a seat belt that'll be an extra $50! Oh, you want an ACTUAL seat. Well that's really going to cost you! To actually have a chair that'll be an extra $100. It makes me sick. And I know that for two plane tickets it's not even that expensive, but come on! Spirit Air give me a freakin' break!

I am so frustrated. People, this needs to be stopped. Airlines are out of control. Do you just realized I paid almost 900 dollars to not be able to check any luggage, most likely not be able to sit next to my sister (and i booked the flight together), have to strip down to almost nothing to have to go through security, what little bags I do take have to be gone through, cattled into the plane through a little tunnel, squished next to someone I don't know, THEN I have to have a layover, and do it all over again. And THEN do it again when I come home.

I hate them. I hate the airlines.

I feel the need to make excuses today...and bring a little excitement!

Just when I think you all are going to tell me to get a grip, stop feeling sorry for myself--don't you read others blogs? Don't you know that despite it all, you are a very blessed girl?? You all indulge me anyway, send me your wishes, your love, remedies of jammies, movies, and good food. And that is why I love you. Because you know that all I need is a little love.

To let you know, I am feeling much, much better. Background on not feeling so great: More lawyer stuff with Mr S. Boo. But even more than that, at our other store (not mine) we had to lay off three people this week. And I am just sick about it. We are such a small company that we are all like family. We know each other's kids (ok well I know their kids, they know each other's kids), spouses, what's going on, our mood swings, what is happening with the family, we know the tone of each others voices, -- i.e. they know when something has made me mad--but seriously we are like family. And to have to do this before the holidays--I mean no time is a good time to get laid off--but the way the economy is, I know families are already struggling. I am just sick about it. My Dad (the owner of both stores) has been besides himself. We are hoping that they can go and collect unemployment for a few months and as soon as things get picked back up (and paid off) we can bring them back on with no problem. Will that work? I don't know. That particular store is a builder store. We sell flooring and install for builders in the area. We have had two HUGE builders go bankrupt this year, meaning we are writing off over $125,000. For a company of our size, that is ENORMOUS. But more than anything, I just feel for those families, my heart aches for them. But that is part of owning your own business, it's not just about you, it's about everyone involved. Our employees, their families, our installers, their families, our vendors, their families. And let me tell you, whoever said owning your own business was the way to go..ugh. I don't know, maybe we are just in the wrong business. Life is too stressful to have to worry about work too! Haha!

Ok now that I got that over with. This weekend I am doing Christmas shopping. I need to make a list, check it twice. I am going to go see Twilight. I have heard good and bad reviews. I'll let you know what I think.

I need to start exercising again. I have been feeling the urge. But can I say some excuses for a minute? I leave for work at 7, I get up at 6-er 6:30 to go. Getting up at 5 AM is reallly difficult, not that it's hard to get out of the bed, but that it's hard to drive to work at 7. My drive to work takes about 50 minutes to an hour. And it's a looonnnggg boring drive. I get sleepy. That's not a good thing. But by the time I get home 6:30-7, and I have been driving for an hour, and I have been fighting with vendors, customers, and installers all day...and it's so cold out now...not to mention dark. I can not seem to muster the strength to go run--or do anything really. But I know I need to find it somewhere within me...ugh.

On an even BETTER NOTE! Guess what???? I am going to go see Mr S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 12th, I am going to board a plane, with my little sister who has agreed to go with me because she can go for free out of the goodness of her heart, to Puerto Rico! I will get to see him for 8 hours on December 13th!!! It will have been 9 months and I am soooo excited to see him! I seriously cannot wait!!!!!!!

Lot's of ! I know, but wouldn't you be excited?? And no, for all you wondering, there are no conjugal visits. I can hug and kiss him when I first see him, and when I have to leave him, but that is all. But that's alright! I'm just really really happy that I get to go! So I have 3 weeks to lose 10 more pounds. Did I mention that I have lost 10 pounds? I have! So we'll see! Hopefully I can accomplish that by not running. But YAY!

I still don't know what to wear. I want to shop for something. Problem is (well it's not a huge problem hehe) that it's warm in puerto rico! Yay! And everything out is cold weather! Maybe I can find something on sale! I do however, know what I can't wear.
#1--no bras with under wire--why? In case I decide to slip Mr. S my under wire?? WTH.
#2--no shirts with ties--Apparently so no one can strangle me with them...Wow.
#3--no revealing clothing--Apparently the guys make comments about someone's wife and people end up dead. Yikes.

Does that stuff scare me? A little, but not really for me, more for Mr S. He has seen some gruesome things. But I am nervous! Not about the whole jail thing, but about seeing Mr. S! Is that weird? It's like a nervous excitement!! I don't know how to explain it! I almost feel that it's not really going to happen! Let's just say I won't believe it, til I see him!

I got my hotel yesterday. I need to book my flight..anyone know of any GREAT websites with fantastic prices??

Did I mention how excited I am???

It's Just Been One of Those Days...

How pale is the sky that brings forth the rain
As the changing of seasons prepares me again
For the long bitter nights and the wild winter's day
My heart has grown cold my love stored away
My heart has grown cold my love stored away

I've been to the mountain left my tracks in the snow
Where souls have been lost and the walking wounded go
I've taken the pain no girl should endure
Faith can move mountains of that I am sure
But faith can move mountains of that I am sure

Just get me through December
A promise I'll remember
Get me through December
So I can start again

No divine purpose brings freedom from sin
And peace is a gift that must come from within
I've looked for the love that will bring me to rest
Feeding this hunger beating strong in my chest
Feeding this hunger beating strong in my chest

Get me through December
A promise I'll remember
Get me through December
So I can start again

It is amazing how the Internet connects us all...and how much joy we truly find in the simple things in life.

Turkey Time is Just Around the Calander! **updated**

I love Thanksgiving.

It is near and dear to my heart.

It is a time for family, a time for friends, a time to give, and especially a time to be thankful!!

But this is NOT why I love Thanksgiving!

Why, then, do you ask?

It's because I LOVE to eat. That's right. I admit it.

But DANG people. I love me some mashed potatoes! Seriously. And all the other wonderful things that go along with the traditional meal!

Except for candied yams. And the jiggly purple stuff that comes outta a can!

But what I truly, truly dessert.

Which is why I am helping The Scattered Mind of a Tattooed Minivan Mom (man C, that is a long freakin name! Even the abbreviation is long: SMTMM) Pimp out her Thanksgiving! That and I can steal all the ideas as well!

So without further ado, this is my recipe:

Fabulous Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

1 (16 oz) pkg of pound cake mix (I like Betty, hers is the most moist)
2 TBSP butter, melted
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 (16 oz) can of pumpkin
1/2 tsp of salt
3 eggs
4 tsp pumpkin spice
1 (14 oz) can condensed milk (Not evaporated! Trust me on this...)
1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl combine cake mix, 1 egg, butter, 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, until crumbly.
Press onto bottom of a 15"x10" pan and set aside

In a different large bowl (or the same, who am I to say?) beat cream cheese until it's fluffy. It will put up a fight, make sure you condition this arm well.

Gradually beat in condensed milk, then the 2 eggs, pumpkin, 2 tsp pumpkin spice, and salt. Mix it all well.

Pour over the crust, sprinkle the nuts on top.

Bake about 30 minutes or until they are set well.

You wont be disappointed!!!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!

Baby Shower!

Success!! The baby shower went really well and I am SO glad! We had about eleven people there! I had it at a place called Sea Captain's Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. It sits on the ocean so it has a really pretty view!! And the food is amazing! They are known for their Shecrab Soup! (Though I actually don't like seafood at all, I just liked the location!)

And I know there are some of you who think it's a house, but it's a restaurant, I promise!

We only played a few games, I wanted to keep it simple since we had it at a restaurant. I found Old Wives Tales Trivia, Baby Shower Price is Right (this one was a lot of fun!), and Nursery Rhyme Jeopardy! (Jeopardy was every one's favorite I think!! It was mine anyway!) And then we played the game were you can't say "baby" or you get your little clothes pin taken away from you! Of course I am TERRIBLE at this game and I was the first one to lose my pin!!

But anyway without further ado, meet our Mommy-to-be!

Here is what the cake looked like! It is soooo gorgeous! I gave a plate that I had gotten for the shower to the lady who does all my cakes (she did my wedding cake) and it looks EXACTLY like the plate! It was crazy! On top of that she has such reasonable prices and the best part is they taste SO good! I still get compliments on how great my cake was from my wedding!

This side said Starlynn Bree is on her way!!

And last but definitely not least, I am SO proud!! Here is the diaper cake!! I hope you think it is as cute as I think it is!! I fell in love with it!

Mommy loved the diaper cake, which to me, makes it all worth it!!

We all had such a good time! We even had two guys come to join us!! They were such good sports!!

Doing this was a lot of fun! I love to make people happy and I really, truly hope that she had a good time!! And even though I ran out of time and had to do everything at the last minute, I still love to plan, decorate, and give a party! I would love to do this more often!!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! I'm going to go work on my photo book now!!!

Oh my!

It's 4 A.M. and I am now finished.

Well with the things I can do here.

Tomorrow I need to get balloons and name tags. And maybe cheesecake bites?

And that should be everything!

And just to let you know, my diaper cake turned out FABULOUS! Thanks so much to Ashley for her great tips!! They really helped! It made it so much easier!!

My cake I picked up is GORGEOUS.

Let's just hope this ia precursor of things to come!!

Wish me luck!!

Who doesn't love FREE??

Do you all read Mommy from the Midwest? Well you should if you don't! She has got one of the cutest blogs! And her kids are sooo adorable!

And what makes me love her even more than possible, is that today she turned me on to a FREE Photo Book from Snapfish. And it is all thanks to Oprah! But this book is seriously a GREAT value and they are a lot of fun to make!! And like I said, who doesn't love FREE?

You need to register today, and have it completed by Sunday! And I know how much you all LOVE photos around here! So go get it! And take pictures so I can see when you get it in the mail! **It would also make good christmas presents people!!!** You know for grandparents, friends, etc.

Have fun!!

Time Crunch!

Okay, so remember how I told you here that I was throwing a baby shower and I needed some ideas on games?? Thank you so much for all of your help and suggestions! It really helped and I got some good ideas!!

Anyway so the baby shower is this Saturday!! And guess how much I have worked on it?? That's right! You guessed it! I have done a big, fat, NOTHING. I have been so busy with work and church this week and sick over last weekend, I have just never had a moment to do anything.

So the plans for tomorrow? You got it. Baby shower mad dash!

Here is what I need to accomplish

-Go to store pick up all supplies for centerpiece, favors, and gift

-Make a list for the store to pick up supplies

-Final Guest Count

-Put together Favors

-Final Game List

-Pick up Cake (thank goodness I at least ordered that!)

-Call Restaurant to confirm and give final guest count

-Corsage for Baby Momma

-Prizes for Games

and last but not least (though I am sure that this is not last, because I KNOW I have forgotten something like always)

I am going to attempt to make this:

A Diaper Cake.

I am being ambitious. I hope I can get everything done tomorrow night. I will make sure to take pictures so you can all see how it turns out!!

Oh and have a GREAT weekend!!!

A Pop Quiz!

So I got an email from my co-worker today and it asked me if I was smart or stoopid? Well ha! Of course I'm smart! Smart enough to know that I had better get a good score on that quiz! Even if it is useless information for the most part. So I took it. And let me tell you. I did a LOT better the second time. Hehehehehe! Just kidding! I got a 27! I'm apparently 50% smarter than a majority of you others, you know the ones that don't blog. Because we all know that we are without a doubt BRILLIANT!

Anyway I thought it was fun, so if you would like click to see if you are Smart or Stoopid . Oh yeah, it's also timed. Timed stuff always gets my nerves jumping, I think my brain actually thinks S...L...O...W...E...R. It's quite frustrating!

What's your score?

P.S. In case you are all wondering, I am aware that stoopid is not a nice word.

And that it's spelled wrong! You didn't think I missed that did you??

A Mish Mash

First of all... Happy Veterans Day!

To all those in the Armed Forces and the families that support them...I don't want anything I say to sound trite (is that the right word? Im drawing a blank here...) but I am so grateful for all that you do. Your service to this country moves me. The sacrifices you make pull at my heart strings and we are all eternally in debted to you for everything you give up, so that we may have everything.

This is one of my favorite patriotic pictures:

Back to my anonymous bloggers questions, which I am sure you are all wondering the answer to now! So the fact is, it is my fault that Mr. S and I went to St Thomas. I was so naive about the immigration system and the way it worked. I had done all the research and thought it would not be easy, but that it was possible to make sure Mr. S got his papers here once we were married. It is not. It is difficult. I know this now. They told me had we put in an I-130 form before we left on our honeymoon, Mr. S would be here with me now. This I did not know. Immigration proceedings are kept pretty hush, hush, --not that it's secret, people just don't talk about it, it's a sensitive subject--so it is hard to get an accurate picture without being in the midst of it. Anyway to make a long story short, you only need your driver's license to go to St Thomas, you don't need a passport since it is an U.S. Territory. Well Mr. S has a driver's license (along with a business license, a bank account, a car vehicle loan, and our marriage license--in case you were wondering) and so I thought it would be no big deal. The thing I didn't take into account was having to go back through customs. Which is where our problem took us. The customs agent asked if Mr. S was a citizen, and Mr. S doesn't lie. He said No. So basically it is not my fault because Mr. S should not have come to the States without documentation, but it is my fault for not thinking and just acting. For not listening to Mr. S when he said, "Mrs. S, I am worried, are you sure this is okay?" I am haunted every day with my decision and I am guilt ridden with it.

Mr S was charged not only on the immigration side, but on the criminal side as well. Which does not always happen, but they decided to go ahead and charge Mr. S with Trying to enter the states without proper documentation. There is better legal jargon for it, but that is basically what it is. So we are still waiting on the criminal side, though right now we have a motion to dismiss in. So we are hoping that goes through and then we will have the immigration side to contend with, but that should go fairly quick compared to the criminal case. It has been very frustrating and difficult. I really appreciate everyone being so supportive of everything that has gone on. I am sure there are many of you that feel for me, but at the same time know that what Mr. S did was wrong. And let me tell you, I am right there with you. But I can tell you this, we are willing to do whatever we need to do to make things right. Mr. S was here illegally, but he did not hide from the government. He applied for a tax I.D. number and has been paying taxes since he started working here. He has never taken any help nor has he ever taken anything that wasn't his. Mr. S is a good person. Until this time, he has never been in any trouble. Was it wrong for him to come here without receiving proper documentation first? Yes, absolutely. But I tell you with the sincerest of hearts, we are willing to do whatever we need to do to correct the situation. I know that there are those who will still disagree with me, and I understand, but I ask you not to leave rude comments. Though I never had anyone leave me rude comments before and of that I am so appreciative! And I know I went from talking about Veteran's Day to Immigration in one foul swoop, but that's the way the cookie is crumbling today.

Alright now that I have gotten that off my chest! I am going to the doctor's office. I did go to work today, but I am having issues with a swollen lymph node (as my tonsils are now gone) and it's very, very tender. I don't like it. So I am buckling down and taking myself to pay outrageous amounts of money to the doctor since work cancelled my medical insurance. Yippee. But I am grateful for my job even without medical insurance. (that was my positive outlook shining through by the way!) But other than that the fever seems to have subsided. So, who knows, but I figure I better just go. Better safe than sorry right??

Last piece...what is the deal with advertisements on the blog? You do them, you don't do them? You like them, you don't like them? You think they are a sell out? They are a good way to earn a buck? I got approached, so I am just curious. Lemme know :)

Dear Anonymous Comment Leaver:

I love to answer any and all questions that come my way! In fact, I have shared anything and everything people have been wanting to know very honestly. I do not mind answering these questions either. However, I do expect the same courtesy when it comes to those who would like to know about my life. If you do not feel comfortable asking me on my blog, then please do not hesitate to email me! But please do not ask very personal questions, very unpersonably! It is all I ask! Thank you so much for understanding!

I do feel for you with your frustration. I think others are asking you too - What is your husband charged with and why did he leave the country for the honeymoon if he knew he would be charged?
November 10, 2008 4:30 PM

And to all my fellow bloggers, again, please do not hesitate to ask whenever you have a question! I decided to blog about this journey, so that I can share my experience with others. I realize there are probably a lot of questions of this nature and I am willing to share those with you! Just thought you should know!

Hope you are all having a good night!

An Update, An Ass, and LOST

Thank you all for your well wishes! I am starting to feel better today! The fever is just about gone! It is very low grade now! Sorry to be such a downer on Saturday. I was frustrated.

Which is not much unlike today. Today I have been home, but have been going back in forth with the lawyer all morning. I want him to update us on what is going on, I want him to answer a few questions. I send the email. He sends back a smart alec email saying if we wanted to, we could withdraw our motion at anytime. I send him one back saying that is not what I asked him about, I would like him to answer my questions, and then I proceeded to call him an ass. Oops. But he really is, I wasn't saying it for theatrical effect.

He is a federal defender, so we are not paying him (theoretically that is..our taxes are doing that) and this is the criminal side of the case by the way. We still haven't made it to the immigration side. That is next. So anyway, the outcome of that is that he is telling me that he will now only talk to Mr. S. I'm frustrated. And I really can't stand this guy and I would go and get a different lawyer except it would slow down the whole process and I just can't bring myself to do that. Well that, and the fact I don't have any more money to pay for another lawyer. The immigration lawyer we paid a lot for. I mean A LOT. I am hoping it will be well worth it. Basically what I am saying is...crap. I try and play nice girl, I get now answers. I try and play the intellectual side, I get no answers. I try and play the emotional side, I get no answers. I try and be a *insert bad word here*, I get no answers. So my next question is, What does it take to get some freakin answers then??

I have been watching LOST since I have been sick. I am addicted. I finally finished Season 3. Holy crap. This is good stuff. I can not stop watching it. I LOVE writers. How do they come up with this stuff??? How do they make it all intertwine, twist, and turn? And still make sense at the end?? Dang right for them to go on strike. They seriously need to make money, this is brilliant stuff. Just when you think it's over, it's NOT! I will try and watch some of Season 4 throughout this month and catch up! Any other LOST fans out there?

Bear with me, more positive outlooks are on their way. But for now, I just need to be frustrated. I need to vent. Sorry.

Sick and Tired....literally.

What is wrong with me??? Why do I keep getting sick??

Today I had high fever all day. It has subsided a little bit, but I still feel like crap and I have a headache. Blah.

On top of that, today I have been married for 8 months.

And I am emotional.

I need a hug, except I'm sick, and I don't want to inflict that on anyone.

I had to go to the store to buy my own apple juice.

Truly, some days I hate strongly dislike my life.

Today is one of those days.

Co-ed Baby Dilema!

Shew!! (pronounced "shoe" meaning "whew" or "woo") It has been a long day! And by that I mean its been a long week! And by that I mean it went by really fast! Seriously though, all these long days I have been having, end up disappearing and before I know it, Friday is here! And by that I mean, Thank Goodness!!!! Although since I have to work tomorrow, it's not really a "true" weekend for me. But what weekend is anymore? And of course from here on out starts the holiday mad dash of activities--which for me with divorced parents is a thousand times more stressful trying to coordinate everything! Let me tell you I can't wait to have my husband home and start a family so we can start our own deal. I am tired of juggling people's feelings and schedules. It takes a lot away from my holiday happiness! But hopefully we will get everything scheduled to make all sides happy!

Can I just tell you all something?? You people post soo much! Do you know it has taken me all day? Alright well it was really on and off, but my goodness! I started out with a number would read a couple, get it down, and it was doubled by the time I got back! Truthfully though, I love it! It is so much fun to share your days and to share mine! So I am not complaining! Nope, not one bit!

Okay, so the real reason for this post besides the meandering rambling IS:

I am throwing a baby shower next weekend. It is co-ed as the mother to be also works in a male dominated industry and does not have a lot of "girl" friends! SO, my question is, Have you been to a co-ed baby shower? And if so, did you have a good time? And if double-so, what did you do that made it a good time?? Any hints, tips, suggestions that you all have would be much appreciated! It is actually my first time hosting a baby shower...actually thinking about it, I don't think I've ever been to a baby shower either! So there you have it! I need help! Anything you got, give it to me!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

A few odds and ends...

Ok so now that Project Runway is over...Wednesday nights are BLAH on the TV. Anybody know anything good about Wednesday nights? So I started watching Jon and Kate + 8. When this show first came on, I loved it! And even though I find myself still watching it. I am bothered. Every episode is we are going skiing, we are going to the zoo, we are going to the beach for fourth of july, we are going to san diego, this place gave us this free trip, we are going to hawaii to renew our vows. What?? Renew your vows? WHY? Have you been married so long that you feel the need to renew them in Hawaii?? I don't get it! The thing I loved about the show was watching how they lived day to day in a normal every day American family! Now it's the oprah show, the cover of some magazine, on and on. I'm sorry but I am glad they have all these opportunities, that is great! But it has kind of taken the fun out of the show for me. So, enough about TV. Can you tell how pathetic I am? I have resorted to talking about shows. *sigh*

My throat started hurting when I woke up this morning! I am worried! I don't want to get sick. But I am also perturbed. I had my tonsils taken out about a year ago. I guess this shouldn't mean no more sore throats, but I was kinda hoping thats what it meant!! And now that I don't have tonsils, the swollen-ness has moved to different lymph nodes. Yippee!

So when reading all of my wonderful posts, I ran across Mamarazzi who talked about doing Pay It Forward or PIF! Here are the rules:

PAY IT FORWARD: I will send a handmade (not necessarily handmade by me, as my crafty-ness is not so great) gift to the first three (3) people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. You may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. (so, you must have a blog to participate.) I can't wait to see who I will be giving to. To join, comment away on my blog and then just cut and paste these instructions to your own blog. {You can wait until you get your item from me to start your pay it forward.} So get posting!

Does anyone want to join?? I think it would be fun! Also the deadline for Mamarazzi's Favorite Things Swap is Friday! Get to swapping people! It should be fun!!

So I went to this fun site to see how many people there are of me!

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named Mrs. S.

woo hoo! I am unique!!

Are you??

***edited to add this: Did anyone else realize that I used the word "fun" so much?? My gosh I don't know what is wrong with me! Even though I really do consider this "fun" I could stand a little expansion of vocabulary!**

Watching and Waiting...

Do you know what my FAVORITE part about elections are??? The fact that on the first Tuesday of the month of November they are OVER! That's right people. I said it. OVER. No more flyers, no more commercials, news reports, and NO MORE PHONE CALLS. Did you know that Gretchen Wilson called me??? Yup, in support of John McCain. She called to tell me how important it was that I support him. Crazy Ol' Gretchen.

I hung up on her.

Ok, okay. Seriously though, the other part that I LOVE is watching the party that won celebrate. And the supporters all over our country celebrating with them. Which is what I am doing right now. It is an amazing thing to see. Congratulations President Obama. Now that you are here, you better damn well hold up your end of the bargain.

Anything to help my Man!

So Melody at Pennies in my Pocket started the weekend self esteem posts! And I have said I was going to start doing this with her. And though I am coming in the last couple of hours, I still wanted to! So here it is:

Assignment: Write a post about how you try to boost
your spouse/significant other's self-esteem.

**Join in on the fun! We could all use a little boost ever once in a while!!**

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of boosting Mr S's self esteem is to be needed. Being from Brazil, Mr. S comes a very macho society.

That being said, I am a VERY independent person. I am the girl that knows how to change her tire, her oil, opens her own jars, moves her own furniture, has a successful job...I am all about girl power. I work in a construction industry and I am in the south in a small town, where it is the "good ol' boy" network. The odds are against me. But in my heels, I run around the job site directing installers, measuring, in the warehouse on the forklift, and doing what I need to do to get the job done. My husband hates that. Not because he isn't proud of me, or because he doesn't want me to be independent, but because he wants to be needed. Which is something I had to learn. So now that I know that I have learned to let him get me things off the top shelf, ask him to change my oil or talk to the mechanic (even though I worked with the service dept at a car dealership). This is why I tell him on a regular basis how much I love him and just why I need him in my life. That he changed my entire world. The whole path for my life changed the day that I told him that I would marry him. That I can't live my life without him. He worries every day that i will forget about him, that I am going to want to stay in the states if he cannot, that I will not love him anymore. So I tell him every single day. In fact we have the same type of conversation every day because that is what he needs. To be loved, to feel needed.

On to a more lighter note, Mr. S LOVES to play soccer. And he is really, really good! So I go to him games, cheer him on, and brag on him to EVERYONE!

Since most of my time was spent with Mr. S before we were married, I used to sneak into his apartment before he got home from work to leave notes everywhere. Literally. Notes on the mirror, his pillow, the fridge, the shirt I KNOW he's going to pick, and his visor in his car. I was the girl that would send text messages continually throughout the day to let him know I was thinking about him or that I missed him.

One of the things I loved most about Mr. S was his happy nature. Mr. S is a naturally happy, optimistic person. I love that about him! I will try everything in my power to make sure he stays that way! If his self esteem stays high, I know that I will be right there with him!

I'm sue me!

So I may be getting a little ambitious here, but I just couldn't resist!! Look what Mamarazzi's doing!! Join in the fun!

This is my first favorite things swap so Im excited!!

The reason I say Im being ambitious is because of Kori's Secret Santa!

Never fear! This stuff is right up my alley! I am so excited! Secret Santa is SOOO fun! Because it's secret! hehe :) (Although you all know Kori because she is so wonderful--this one is closed and in progress!)
You have to admit, there is a lot of exciting stuff going on in this little world of ours!!

Seriously, I am being the biggest procrastinator. I don't know why. I'm being ridiculous right now. I am supposed to be finishing and printing the Relief Society newsletter for church tomorrow and I can NOT seem to make myself do it. It is not going to take that long. And I am sure I will feel better once it is done. But I don't wanna. How 'bout them apples?? (that's right, I said it!) *sigh*

So while you all are parading around the cutest kids in the history of Halloween....Let me instead show you a picture of my super cute puppy from last night! She stole the show. I wasn't going to dress her up this year, but at the last minute, I found a costume at walmart. It was cheap and cute. And it really turned out super cute! Even my Dad liked it. I almost fell over! Seriously--the man needs some grandkids. You should hear the way he acts with Gracie. Gracie will have to do for now however, with the husband on a "temporary leave of absence" someone might find it odd if grandkids start popping up.

Anyway onto the show!

First of all look at that cute face!

Just try and ignore the crazy eye (I need photoshop) and look how cute the costume is!

I love this face!!

Dont worry about the fact that I haven't made my bed today! The dog is too darn cute too worry about such things!!

I dressed up as pictures of myself. Bonus Mom took some, so maybe one day I will post one!

On a little bit of a more serious note...if you could all keep Mr. S in your prayers, I would really appreciate it. He is going a little stir crazy and he has been having a difficult time this past week. It's hard to hear him suffer so much, I just pray this all gets resolved soon and we will be able to move on. Thank you so much for all the prayers you have said for us already and the support you continue to show us! I do tell Mr. S about you and although he thinks it's funny for me to write about my life on here, he is glad that I have an outlet!

We had our big remnant sale at work today! It was a total bust!! Okay, so not a total bust, we made a little over $200.00 (so at least we didn't lose), but that is nothing for a Saturday. I was hoping we would get a lot of traffic. I guess we will just wait until spring. The first one we had went GREAT. The second one got rained out and I just knew that the third one was going to be a hit! Ah, well. What are you going to do??

Can I just say Thank GOODNESS! for fall back tonight! Whoo! Especially since it's heading onto midnight and I have yet to finish my newsletter. I suppose it's about time to get on with it! Hope you all have had a good weekend!!
