Baby Shower!

Success!! The baby shower went really well and I am SO glad! We had about eleven people there! I had it at a place called Sea Captain's Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. It sits on the ocean so it has a really pretty view!! And the food is amazing! They are known for their Shecrab Soup! (Though I actually don't like seafood at all, I just liked the location!)

And I know there are some of you who think it's a house, but it's a restaurant, I promise!

We only played a few games, I wanted to keep it simple since we had it at a restaurant. I found Old Wives Tales Trivia, Baby Shower Price is Right (this one was a lot of fun!), and Nursery Rhyme Jeopardy! (Jeopardy was every one's favorite I think!! It was mine anyway!) And then we played the game were you can't say "baby" or you get your little clothes pin taken away from you! Of course I am TERRIBLE at this game and I was the first one to lose my pin!!

But anyway without further ado, meet our Mommy-to-be!


Here is what the cake looked like! It is soooo gorgeous! I gave a plate that I had gotten for the shower to the lady who does all my cakes (she did my wedding cake) and it looks EXACTLY like the plate! It was crazy! On top of that she has such reasonable prices and the best part is they taste SO good! I still get compliments on how great my cake was from my wedding!

This side said Starlynn Bree is on her way!!


And last but definitely not least, I am SO proud!! Here is the diaper cake!! I hope you think it is as cute as I think it is!! I fell in love with it!


Mommy loved the diaper cake, which to me, makes it all worth it!!


We all had such a good time! We even had two guys come to join us!! They were such good sports!!



Doing this was a lot of fun! I love to make people happy and I really, truly hope that she had a good time!! And even though I ran out of time and had to do everything at the last minute, I still love to plan, decorate, and give a party! I would love to do this more often!!

It's 4 A.M. and I am now finished.

Well with the things I can do here.

Tomorrow I need to get balloons and name tags. And maybe cheesecake bites?

And just to let you know, my diaper cake turned out FABULOUS! Thanks so much to Ashley for her great tips!! They really helped! It made it so much easier!!

Time Crunch!

Okay, so remember how I told you here that I was throwing a baby shower and I needed some ideas on games?? Thank you so much for all of your help and suggestions! It really helped and I got some good ideas!!

Anyway so the baby shower is this Saturday!! And guess how much I have worked on it?? That's right! You guessed it! I have done a big, fat, NOTHING. I have been so busy with work and church this week and sick over last weekend, I have just never had a moment to do anything.

So the plans for tomorrow? You got it. Baby shower mad dash!

Here is what I need to accomplish

-Go to store pick up all supplies for centerpiece, favors, and gift

-Make a list for the store to pick up supplies

-Final Guest Count

-Put together Favors

-Final Game List

-Pick up Cake (thank goodness I at least ordered that!)

-Call Restaurant to confirm and give final guest count

-Corsage for Baby Momma

-Prizes for Games

and last but not least (though I am sure that this is not last, because I KNOW I have forgotten something like always)

I am going to attempt to make this:

A Diaper Cake.

I am being ambitious. I hope I can get everything done tomorrow night. I will make sure to take pictures so you can all see how it turns out!!

Co-ed Baby Dilema!

Shew!! (pronounced "shoe" meaning "whew" or "woo") It has been a long day! And by that I mean its been a long week! And by that I mean it went by really fast! Seriously though, all these long days I have been having, end up disappearing and before I know it, Friday is here! And by that I mean, Thank Goodness!!!! Although since I have to work tomorrow, it's not really a "true" weekend for me. But what weekend is anymore? And of course from here on out starts the holiday mad dash of activities--which for me with divorced parents is a thousand times more stressful trying to coordinate everything! Let me tell you I can't wait to have my husband home and start a family so we can start our own deal. I am tired of juggling people's feelings and schedules. It takes a lot away from my holiday happiness! But hopefully we will get everything scheduled to make all sides happy!

Can I just tell you all something?? You people post soo much! Do you know it has taken me all day? Alright well it was really on and off, but my goodness! I started out with a number would read a couple, get it down, and it was doubled by the time I got back! Truthfully though, I love it! It is so much fun to share your days and to share mine! So I am not complaining! Nope, not one bit!

Okay, so the real reason for this post besides the meandering rambling IS:

I am throwing a baby shower next weekend. It is co-ed as the mother to be also works in a male dominated industry and does not have a lot of "girl" friends! SO, my question is, Have you been to a co-ed baby shower? And if so, did you have a good time? And if double-so, what did you do that made it a good time?? Any hints, tips, suggestions that you all have would be much appreciated! It is actually my first time hosting a baby shower...actually thinking about it, I don't think I've ever been to a baby shower either! So there you have it! I need help! Anything you got, give it to me!
