Lesson # 23,466,723 in Brazil

Even in the car, you can get burnt.

Which now means EVERYONE that sees my right arm wants to know what happened. At least I proved I can turn a shade other than red or white, since I have a hideous tan line on one arm now.

Ouch!!! It hearts just to look at it.
From someone who already have too many sun burn for her own good, lots of Aloe Vera Gel, lots of moisturized and cold (almost icy) showers.

Stopping in from SITS! I do the same thing. It never ceases to amaze me how I can only burn myself in one spot.

p.s. Thanks for stopping by my blog when I was SITS featured blogger!

That happened to me on a 20 minute car ride my first visit to Brazil! I try to keep a small tube of SPF50 with me at all times, though I assume by the title of your post, you know this already :)

I came across your blog a while ago, subscribed in RSS but never read your "history" until this week. Wow, how awful. I know that we are in very different situations (geographically, and in terms of how voluntary your move to Brazil was), but from what it sounds, you at least have the benefit (like me), of having a loving Brazilian family.

Even though we don't know each other, I can relate to a lot of what you've written about getting accustomed to the new way of life (I mean seriously, what in the hell is up with these OFF!-loving mosquitoes?)

I'm looking forward to reading about you and Sidnei's adventures, and the good news that you are learning more Portuguese (rough, eh? My dogs got sick this week and it was at times very frustrating to hear 25% of the facts in Portuguese before knowing what was going on! So I can totally empathize with your dog's car accident) and that your fair skin has eventually become a little more tolerant to your new environment (it's been alleged to me that it eventually happens, lol).

If our travels take us anywhere near Mineas, I'll be sure to get in touch.

Beijos, abraços & fica com Deus.
