Help please

Hello all....any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Last weekend at the airport, I switched bags with someone. He took mine, I took his. We got everything straightened out, but when I received my bag, I was, of course, missing things. Do I have any rights in this situation? Is there anyway to get my things back? Or the money that was lost? I'm so mad I just can't stand it.

I would contact the airlines? Hope you can get everything back.

Yeah, I'd contact the airline since I'm sure they've dealt with this type of situation before. I hope you get all your stuff back.

The first thing I thought of was to contact the airline as well. If not, can you confront the guy?

What the crap! What's wrong with people?? I'm so sorry that happened steph! Contact the airlines and if you don't get anywhere there the police you should have some of his information right??

How is it the airline's fault if they both took the wrong bag at the pick up? That's why they have signs that say, check that the bag you take is yours... AND she should have checked everything inside when he returned her bag in person, and she could have phoned the police at that time. Sorry, but I don't think you have any recourse. He will just deny that he took anything.

He didn't return the bag in person, it was delivered by a courier company. And at the time it was delivered, I was working. Also when I was in rio de janeiro I rechecked my bags after customs...the ticket agent changed the ticket on the bag without looking at it because it wasn't checked all the way through to belo horizonte. she should not have removed that tag without checking it(at least this is what the airline has told me)

What crap, this happened to my mom and she returned the wrong bag she picked up the other person never did as far as we know. While technically that isn't the airlines fault they did reimburse her for what she lost, well a small fraction of what she lost but it was something. Sorry that happened to you, feels like such an invasion of privacy!
