Going Home

Sidnei just called to tell me they are deporting him tomorrow.

He will fly from Puerto Rico to Panama to Sao Paulo.

I knew this was going to happen.

So why am I bawling?

I'm worried about him. Which I shouldn't be, I know he is going home and that is a great thing! But I'm worried. He doesn't have any money, no real way to get in touch with me. He won't get in until almost 9 PM. Will he need to stay over night in a hotel somewhere? Do I need to buy him a plane ticket? He said he would take the bus, but when does the bus leave? Not only that but I won't be able to talk to him until he is in Brazil. I am going crazy.

I'm hoping they have something set up for him....that's crazy if they just leave him to find his way home.

Don't worry, it's going to be fine! He's going "home" He'll know what to do and his family will be there.

Buses are nice coach comfy things, and everybody takes them here It's not like the riff raff on buses in the united states. Without a train system and only recently have domestic airlines become available, buses are the main way people got around. They're pretty nice and many even show movies. My 75 year old mother in law does it all the time by herself between Sao Paulo and my city.

I know it feels SO far away now, but it's going to be okay, really it is! He's going to be pampered by his Mineira mother and fed a big healthy plate of rice and beans, and maybe he'll start off his first day of freedom with a football game!

So now is a really good time for you to download skype. Then buy skype-out credits. It's similar to a phone card. I talk on it all the time to family back home. It costs less than $1 usdollar to talk for over an hour!

Hang in there!!!!!! You'll be together before you know it!

We women worry, men just get it done. I have found that they always find a way to deal with stuff.

It is scary, but I am sure he will be fine. They will not put him on the street. If they do, we have some letters to write!

Take a deep breath, trust God and know that ya'll will be together very soon.

He will be fine! I know you feel out of control, but it will be good for him to finally get out and prove to himself that he is capable of this.
I will be praying for you and him! Let us know how it goes...

Don't worry, because it's out of your control. It sounds like Sydnei knows how to take care of himself and he will be okay! Be happy that he will have his freedom back!

Can you help talk to him before he leaves and make plans for him? can you buy him a phone card over the internet and have him call you from brazil once he arrives and then not only you can talk to him but help him with his way home? Is he arriving in GRU? If so, I can get him to make a call home to you through some friends so at least you know he is ok.

By the way, in the scheme of things . . . he will see family soon (other family than you though :( ) and get to eat some brazilian food, feel a bit more free and be able to have time to put things in order in some way before you get there. Skype is great. If he doesn't have access to a pc, there are pc houses everywhere in the city. Or if he can't, then I would suggest you call them over skype, cheaper, easier for you as well.

Oh Stephanie, so close yet so far. So close though. :)

Calm down my friend! I'm sure he will be fine! I know you must be very worried, but youve got to calm down for your own good!

Normally people that are flying to brazil, don't have to stay in any hotels, they just wait for the connection at airport.

He will be just fine! :)

hugs!

He will be fine, I am sure of it! He will just be so happy to be out of there! Plus he is a dude, it isn't as scary for them as it seems for us. I'm sorry you are sad though. He will be watched over. :)

Take a deep breathe, lol. This is how things are supposed to happen! Soon he will be free! Once Sidnei's in Brasil, he'll be in his element, and he'll be fine. He can always collect call you if he can't find any other way. Buses are super easy to use, too, and actually pretty comfortable. That's how we travel between Santos and Sao Paulo, and the bus is always full of normal people. Oh, and it's cheap! If he needs something, he WILL call. This is so exciting!!!

it is much easier here than in the States...don't worry so much.
The buses leave every half hour or so, so it will be ok for him to get home.
Somehow it will all work out, and soon you'll be together!
Focus on that which you have power over....and stay positive :)

Well, I can't imagine that they don't make some sort of accommodations! That would be totally absurd to leave a person just hanging...

I wouldn't worry your pretty little head too much, sweetie. He's a smart, grown man. (so few and far between!) I'm sure it will all work out just fine.

I will pray!!
